Recipe for the Holiday: Sweet and Salty Pumpkin Seeds

With Halloween coming up, I think I'd share this wonderful recipe I found for sweet and salty pumpkin seeds.
(I have not tried this recipe yet, but I plan on trying it once we buy pumpkins!)

Sweet and Salty Pumpkin Seeds - serves about 8

Ingredients:
2 cps fresh pumpkin seeds (from 2 med, pumpkins), rinsed and patted dry
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Direction:
>Heat oven to 300 degrees F. Spread the seeds on a rimmed baking/cookie sheet and bake until dry throughout, 50 to 60 minutes.

>Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, toss the seeds with the other ingredients. Return the seeds to the baking sheet and toast until golden brown, 10-15 minutes.

>Serve or store!

Free Orbit Gum @ CVS: 9/26 - 10/2 (Sorry for the long post) : )

I was just at my favorite CVS, doing some last minute shopping for last week (9/19-9/25). After I was done buying everything I needed, I chatted with the manager for a little bit. I always have questions for him and he is always happy to help. Well after he helped me, he grabbed the ad for this week (9/26-10/2), passed it to me, and asked me if there was anything good this week! LOL. This was kind of surprising to me. He always commented on how I was able to get so much for so little, but this was a shocker. I happily told him that CVS is kind of in it down cycle right now (only a few good deals that I see) but if he wants me to help him get started shopping there, I would gladly help. He asked what the products were and how everything would work. (To be honest, I thought he already new this stuff; he was always able to answer my questions and help me without any miscommunication.) After I explained everything to him, we looked through the ad so that I could show him examples, and that's when I saw it. On page 4 in the bottom right hand corner: with card Wrigley's Orbit Gum 14 ct on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free all flavors where on sale at my store, no price listed; I did check while I was at the store, but I have forgotten. (I'll call tomorrow to check.)

I have 9 Buy 1 Get 1 Free any Orbit 14 piece pack x9/30/10. I collected these from a tearpad at a convenience store, I think. Anyways, that means 18 packs of free gum for me! (This will be a great addition to my gum collect which has over 45 packs of gum.) I love stocking up on gum because I use it for stocking stuffers, birthday and other holiday baskets/treats, and of course, I keep some for myself.

What I Got in the Mail This Week: 9/13 - 9/18

This one was a slow week, but I did get some really great prizes in the mail.

First I was to tell ya'll about the shower curtain that I won! I won a shower curtain from one of the giveaway I entered (I'll update with links). Well, it came in the mail this week! I was so excited to see the big package stuffed in my little apartment mailbox. I had a little bit of trouble getting it out; but once it was free, I did the happy dance. : ) It's so big. I currently have a stall shower in my apartment, and this curtain is big enough for a stand alone tub, so I'm gonna take pictures of it on the floor so ya'll can see the design on it.

Another package arrived this week that I was excited to get. I had ordered 2 of the reusable Disney character Trick or Treat bags; one a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, and the other a Mickey Mouse theme. Just wait til you see the pictures! I paid $5.33 for both; $2.50 each with tax and free shipping. These bags are so adorable! I love both of them. They aren't completely cloth, they are kind of plastic on the outside and cloth on the inside, with durable handles. I know I will be using these for more than just carrying candy.

Sorry for not posting anything for the last few days. I've been busy-ish. I was watching my fiancé's grandmother for a few days, then I was sick, and before I knew it BlogMania was here.
