Homeland Shopping Haul 2.24.13

Went Homeland shopping again today. I was able to find most of what I had on my list, but they were out of a few things; and the lines were crazy long. It took us more time standing in line than it took to complete my shopping list. The trip was still worth it though as I was able to save 74% on all the goodies pictured below!

I went to the Homeland in the next town over that is now doubling two like coupons per card, per day and they double coupons the state DND but begin with a 5; this is one way I am able to stock up on goodies much more quickly than shopping at my regular store which doesn't offer such great promotions. Also I decided to "show my work" this time, so here's a semi more detailed shopping list.

Products Purchased:
(4) Brisk Tea 2lt @ $1.34 each
(2) Dawn Hand Renewal Soap 9 oz @ $1.39 each
(2) Taco Bell Hard Taco Shells 12ct @ $1.00 each
(5) Maruchan Yakisoba Noodles @ $1.00 each
(4) Nestle Nesquik Syrup @ $1.78 each
(4) Campbell's Cream of Potato Soup 15 oz @ $1.00 each
(8) Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup 15 oz @ $1.00 each
(4) Bumble Bee Tuna Pouch @ $1.29 each
(8) Halls Cough Drops 30ct @ $1.25 each

Coupons Used:
(2) -$1.00/2 Brisk (regional insert x4.10.13) DBL = OOP: 34c each or $1.36
(2) -50c/1 Dawn Soap (1.27.13 P&G x2.28.13) DBL = OOP: 39c each or 78c
(1) -$1.00/2 Taco Bell Products (tearpad/homemailer x3.31.13) DBL = OOP: Free
(2) -$1.00/2 Yakisoba (2.10.13 SS x5.31.13) DBL = OOP: Free
(1) -50c/1 Yakisoba (2.10.13 SS x5.31.13) DBL = OOP: Free
(2) -$1.00/2 Nestle Syrup/Powder (2.17.13 RP x4.4.13) DBL = OOP: 78c each or $3.12
(2) -40c/2 Campbell's Soup (1.13.13 SS x3.15.13) DBL = OOP: 60c each or $2.40
(2) -40c/4 Campbells Soup (1.13.13 SS x3.15.13) DBL = OOP: 80c each or $6.40
(2) -55c/2 Bumble Bee Tuna (blinkie x4.30.13) DBL = OOP: 74c each or $2.96
(2) -$1.00/2 Halls Cough Drops 25ct or higher (tearpad x3.31.13) DBL = OOP: 25c each or $1.00
(2) -$1.00/2 Halls Cough Drops 17 ct or higher (blinkie x4.3.13) DBL = OOP: 25c each or $1.00

And the register figured that my transaction should actually be:
Subtotal = $17.82
Tax (8.85%) = $2.92
Total Due = $20.74

Total number of items sold = 41

Then dividing price paid by products purchased I figured I paid 51c per product this shopping trip!

Homeland Shopping Haul 2.23.13

Here's a picture and "not so detailed" type up of my Homeland shopping trip haul today. I'm currently shopping at the Homeland in Yukon as they now double two like coupons per card per day; so I can stock up on certain goodies faster.

Spent: $49.16 ($6.00 was tax!) ~ Saved: $84.33

So unfortunately I was only able to get one good picture of my haul today. I tried three times and this was the best one. Anyways, there's 64 products in the lovely picture above (one product is not pictured), and below is my shopping list!

(1) Beggin Strips 6 oz @ $3.99 each {not pictured}
(8) Puffs Tissues 100 ct @ $1.00 each
(8) Halls Cough Drops 30 ct @ $1.25 each
(2) Dawn Hand Renewal Soap 9 oz @ $1.39 each
(2) Poise Pantyliners 26 ct @ $3.75 each
(4) Knorr Pasta Sides @ $1.00 each
(4) Nestle Chocolate Syrup @ $1.78 each
(6) Maruchan Yakisoba Noodles @ $1.00 each

(2) Taco Bell Sauces @ $1.50 each
(2) Taco Bell Heat & Serve Black Beans @ $1.50 each
(1) John Soule Chicken Fajita Bag @ $4.99 each
(4) Bumble Bee Tuna Pouch @ $1.29 each
(2) Gorton's Salmon Fillets @ $3.49 each
(15) Campbell's Red Label Soups @ $1.00 each

And my coupons/discounts:
(1)-$1.00/1 Beggin Strips - insert
(2)-25c/3 Puffs Tissues - insert
(1)-$1.00/2 - inside product package
(2)-$1.00/2 Halls Drops - tearpad
(2)-$1.00/2 Halls Drops - blinkie
(2)-50c/1 Dawn Soap - insert
(2)-$1.00/1 Poise - insert
(2)-50c/2 Knorr Sides - insert
(2)-$1.00/2 Nestle Syrup/Powder - insert
(2)-$1.00/2 Maruchan Yakisoba - insert
(2)-50c/1 Maruchan Yakisoba - insert
(2)-$1.00/2 V8 Splash - insert
(2)-$1.00/2 Taco Bell Products - tearpad/company contact
(1)-$2.00/1 John Soule - store wyb discount
(2)-55c/2 Bumble Bee - blinkie
(2)-$1.00/1 Gorton's - company contact
(1)-40c/3 Campbell's Soup - insert
(2)-40c/2 Campbell's Soup - insert
(2)-40c/4 Campbell's Soup - insert

So after pretty much all the coupons doubling, I paid $49.16 out of pocket for 65 products and saved $84.33 (or 66%); net cost of 76c per product! I'd say that's not too shabby!

Publix Trip 10/1

I love shopping at Publix! Most of the cashiers are nice and the managers are always very helpful. Publix doesn't have a set coupon policy. However, if you follow the "standard guidelines of couponing" (will update with link soon) then you shouldn't have any problems!

ITEMS:
6 Barilla Penne Pasta @ BOGOF @ $1.39 ea = $4.17
6 Halls Cough Drops 30 - 40 ct @ BOGOF @ $1.69 ea = $5.07

COUPONS USED:

2 MAN -$0.55 Barilla pasta (internet prints)
1 MAN -$4.00/6 Halls and other brand name products (insert)

Total (no tax charged?): $2.14

Savings Summery (located @ bottom of receipt): $16.34

Not too bad, 18 cents per item.  We really needed cough drops and I now I've got my fix of penne pasta. :)

Walgreens Trip 10/1

Well I didn't really buy anything. I ordered an 8"x10" collage print on 9/30 when the Facebook promotion with a code for a free print was available; and opt to picked it up in stores to avoid shipping charges. I'm sorry for not posting it, I was busy and I was (still am) going on very little sleep.  I hope you were able to snag this freebie.

I had a hard time getting my pictures to load, so I ended up using pics of my family's pets (over the years) from my sister's albums. Here it is!

That's Ema sleeping with her head on the pillow and tucked in under the blanket. Yes, she did always sleep like that in my bed. :) I miss her so much.

I think it turned out really great! This will be a perfect addition to my scrapbook that I'm making from the free prints snapfish offer a while back.

The sleeve that the picture comes in, has two coupons at the top. However, they both state that they are good through 3/31/10. You might be able to talk to a manager about it, but I don't think it's a good enough deal to cause a ruckus about.

Did you get yours? Leave a comment letting me know!

CVS Trip 10/1

Today I went to CVS to redeem my quarterly ECB's for all three cards that I use. Here's what I received:

Red Star card: $0.50
Yellow Star card: $1.00
Green Star card: $2.00

These ECB's don't expire until 11/15/2010. Try not to lose them before you spend them if you are planning on saving them!

After I got these from the big red machine, I grabbed two more of the freezey pops on the yellow card.

Transaction #1 Card: Yellow Star
ITEMS:
2 Fun Pops Freezey Pops 100 ct minis/box @ $0.49 = $0.98

GREEN BAG TAG

COUPONS USED:
1 CVS -$1.00 ECB - quarterly ECB's

subtotal: .00
tax: .00
TOTAL: $0.00

Total ECB's Received: $1.00 GBT

At the bottom of the receipt, it states that my savings is $7.98. I love how I can get 200 miniture freezer pops complete FREE!

Right now my favorite CVS has a lot of clearance items, at a 50% discount. I'm hoping to grab a few items for Christmas gifts, but I'm waiting on my store to get the Oral B Vitality Rechargeable toothbrush in. I read somewhere that some of the warehouse may have ran out. I was hoping to roll the ECB's to make money on the toothbrush deal, so that I could have some ECB's to blow without messing up my plans for next weeks shopping trip.

CVS Trip 9/30

Total Cost w/tax Out of Pocket (w/o rebate and ECB's): $4.79
Total Cost w/tax (after rebate and ECB's): $1.79

Transaction #1 Card: Red Star
ITEMS:
1 Globe Brand Desk Lamp @ $3.99 (was $7.99 w/ 50% clearance) - Has $2.00 rebate peelie on front

GREEN BAG TAG

subtotal: 3.99
tax: .27
TOTAL: $4.26

Total ECB's Received: $1.00 GBT

Transaction #2 Card: Yellow Star
ITEMS:
1 Fun Pops Freezey Pops (minis) 100 ct @ $0.49 (was $4.00 w/ 87.5% off I believe)

GREEN BAG TAG

subtotal: .49
tax: .4
TOTAL: $0.53

Total ECB's Received: $0.00

I'm horrible with impulse buying, but at least I used a rebate right? I bought the lamp on impulse but I think it's  acceptable, I mean $1.26 after rebate and ECB (GBT) for a desk lamp with an energy saving bulb included is a price book price for me. Also, I didn't wait to buy the lamp because the rebate states that the purchase must be made by Sept. 30th, 2010. I was lucky enough to make my transactions before midnight this time : ) so I think I'm ok as far as the deadline goes. Also I am planning on buying another box of freezey pops on the same card today so I can get my $1.00 green bag tag ECB and only pay $0.53 out of pocket. That equals paying tax for 200 freezey pops!

CVS Trip 9/29

Total Cost Out of Pocket: $1.25 with $12.99 ECB's

This week I started off with $16 in ECB on the *Red Star* card to use at CVS. Just so you know, the stars are for me to stay organized between 3 cards and tons of receipts. :) I did two transactions this trip but I only used $6.00 in ECB's. It was pretty easy, they were only out of the Oral B rechargeable toothbrush and only had one of the Reach Access flossers. I had to change from my original plans, but I think this worked out perfect. Now on to the deals!

Transaction #1 Card: Red Star

1 CVS -$2.00 ECB

subtotal: .00

TOTAL: $0.78

Total ECB's Received: $5.00

Well what do you think? I spent $6.00 ECB's and $1.25 out of pocket, and received $12.99 in ECB's. Getting paid $5.74 to take things home is awesome; and now I have $22.99 in ECB's!  I had to get a raincheck for 2 of the Oral B toothbrush that's on sale with the ECB's; so when I actually score that, I'll post it.

Did you notice the peelies on the Thermacare heat wraps? Yep, some packages of Thermacare HeatWraps 3ct. have a -$2.00/1 any 8 hour HeatWraps 2 ct. or larger x 12/31/2012 coupon on the front of the box. I might use these on the Green Star card tomorrow to score 2 more boxes and peelies.

I will try to post my HOW TO's on paying tax at CVS soon so that you can snag some awesome deals!

CVS Trip 9/1

I'm still playing catch up so here's another post from the past!

Okay, so if you couldn't tell by now, I really love shopping at CVS. I did go to Walgreens for a few "freebies" that didn't really make me too happy. I know that they now have a coupon policy (which is posted on their website), but it seems like the personnel there aren't as knowledgeable about coupons as the personnel at CVS. Also today at one of their locations I was told that I can only do 2 transactions. I would love to know where that one is stated, but I decide just to do my 2 and leave. Then at another location I was told that I'm really not supposed to go to different store and buy the other products that I didn't buy at the first location because that if the store wanted me to buy all of the products, they wouldn't limit it to 2 transactions, by a cashier. I just smiled, told her "oh okay, thank you" , and walked out of the store. I don't even know what to say about that one, so if anyone wants to comment, please feel free.

So on to wait you all have been waiting for, my almost tax only CVS shopping trip.

That last transaction was me just getting a few things that we needed here at the house without having to spend too much oop. I do hate that I won't be able to use that $8.00 ECB on next weeks snuggie deal, but I think I can work something else out for it.

I might post my Walgreens trip later, I'm really tired right now. I think I'm only going to shop at Walgreen when there is something that I will actually use for cheap or free. But other than that I'm staying clear of Walgreens for a while, especially since I can no longer combine the Walgreens monthly coupons from their booklet with a manufacturer's coupon. *yawns*

I missed the cheap/free pasta from FoodLion last week, but I know there is a deal this week at Publix on pasta, so I'll be back later with a shopping trip from them for ya'll. *yawns, again*

And on that note, I bid you good night.

CVS Trip 8/31

There is another older post about my shopping trip!

Hi, I'm back with another great deal I did yesterday at CVS. I would like to point out that I think these are good deals for people who are just learning how to shop at CVS!
