    Complete Company Contact List

How many of you guys are doing company contacts this year? Wait, you don't know what a company contact is?! Well the easy explanation is it's another way of receiving coupons that don't come in the Sunday papers. The coupons you receive from a company contact can be and are sometimes referred to as non insert coupons.

Many couponers do what we call "company contact", where you contact the company of a specific brand to let them know what you think of their product. You can also ask to be put on their mailing list and if they have any current special offers. Many times companies will have a special club that you can join and will receive updates on new product and offer available.

There are many ways you can contact a company. The three main ways of contacting a company are by phone, postal mail, or email. Some companies can only be contacted through their website and more recently their facebook.com page. You can usually find the company contact information on the package under the nutritional information.

Well instead of hunting down every single product package for the companies you wish to contact, there is a complete list of company contact information! This list can be organized A to Z by product name or manufacturer and includes the manufacturer's mailing address, customer service number, and additional information on that specific product!

Simply CLICK HERE to access the company company contact list!

My 2012 Bill Budget Organizer - Home Financial Book Craft

With it being a new year and all, I decided it was time for my family to get out of debt and stop living paycheck to paycheck. Now deciding all of this was pretty easy, but applying it would be much harder.

Where does one start when changing their spending habits? By seeing their spending habits! I first realized that before I could change our habits, I needed to know what those habits were. So DH and I sat down and wrote them all out on paper. It wasn't pretty but it was a great start. After listing all of our expenses, I was lost on the next step. I knew that we needed to find a way to separate the money from the checks into sections for our bills and other expenses, but how? I had tried a few methods in the past but I never stuck to them. One method I had tried many times was the envelope system. Ya know, have one envelope for each expense then dividing your checks into the sections so you have money for all of your bills? Yea that one. So I researched it a little more to discover this Dave Ramsey fellow. He's pretty spot on with his "how to" on the envelope system. After watching his videos covering the baby steps, I decided to try the envelope system again but this time with success.

So I create my Bill Budget Organizer based on the envelope system. I'll explain with pictures!

I had this little black planner case in my crafting stash. I had planned on using it for a recipe book, but it was perfect for the bill budget organizer.

I left the note sheet that came with the planner in the case. I'll be using the note section to record our income, debts, parental assistance, and anything else I need to write down.

Now I used one envelope for each expense. I hole punched and labeled them, then I put them into the planner case. I organized the envelope by using different colored gel pens on the labels and putting them in order by earliest due to latest due. The different color gel pens are to represent which expenses are paid with which check. Each envelope is labeled with the title of the expense, the due date, and the amount due. The check mark indicated if the expense has been paid. I also keep the receipts in the envelopes until the end of each month; then all receipts will be filed away in my filing cabinet.

So the color key: Blue - check 1, Green - both checks/dual check expenses, Purple - check 2

And I almost forgot . . .

Then there is another notepad and business card holder sheets behind all the envelopes. I also keep a datebook found at Hallmark in the front left side pocket (not pictured) to keep track of due dates and appointment dates.

By the way, yes, we have more than just 8 categories. To tell y'all the truth, we have a total of  20 envelopes.

Soooo, what do y'all think?!

Grocery Stores: Crest Foods Shopping Reminders

Here is a list of reminders for when you're shopping at Crest Foods Stores!

  • Crest does not publish weekly sales flyers so check out our forum/blog for updates on deals. If you see a deal at Crest.....let us know so we can share or post it in our forum.
  • Crest does not double coupons.
  • Crest accepts internet coupons BUT will not accept internet coupons for "free" items or coupons over $3.00 off an item.
  • Some Crest locations give overage, others price adjust the coupon if the value of the coupon is higher than the item's sale price.
  • ALWAYS check expirations dates. Many times an item will be on sale for CHEAP because it is about to expire.
  • Crest's pricing is comparable to Walmart. They are lower on some things and higher on others so it pretty much evens out.
  • Crest offers GREAT values on meat compared to Walmart and Homeland's regular prices.
  • Crest does not allow stacking of coupons (can't use a Crest store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon together to purchase one single product)

Crest Foods Policy on Printable Coupons

So I recently discovered that there is a Crest Foods grocery store right down the street from my house. Now I have never heard anything of Crest so I snooped around their website until I found a policy on using printable coupons at their stores. Now some of the content did strike me as odd and at times down right false, but it's their policy and we have to go by it.

Click HERE to print the pdf policy at home!

Here is what their policy says for printable coupon usage at their store. *Please note, this policy is dated June 7th, 2010.*

Internet Coupon Acceptance Store Policy

[Crest Foods] accepts legitimate printable coupons that consumers receive via retailer and manufacturer websites and email campaigns, through interactive advertising and promotions on web publisher sites, and from legitimate online coupon sites. We recognize that our customers are increasingly turning to the Internet to find coupons. In an effort to make using printable coupons a positive experience, we have created these store policies and consumer guidelines to help consumers and store personnel alike prevent the abuse of these promotions.

Printable Coupons…
• Always scan properly at the register. Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special software designed to print a properly rendered barcode on the coupon. [Crest Foods] will only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout.

• Will not be for “free” product. It is an industry practice not to produce printable coupons for free product. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable. “Free product” coupons should always be pre-printed and sent via postal mail or published in media, and printed double-sided and/or on security paper. [Crest Foods] will not accept “FREE product” printable coupons.
• Will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. [Crest Foods] will not accept coupons for more than 75% of a product’s value. We will not accept coupons internet or otherwise for $3.00 and over.
• Usually have short expiration dates. Some coupons may have longer expiration dates, but most expire 30-45 days after you print them. [Crest Foods] receives information about valid printable coupon expiration dates and may reject coupons that have altered expiration dates.
• Never appear on screen. All legitimate printable coupons are sent directly to the printer after clicking on a link in your web browser or email. A legitimate coupon is never sent as a graphic or PDF or sent in a Word document.
• Are never copied, sold or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others. Coupons are never sold and you should not pay for someone’s “time to clip” or other service fee. You should always print the coupon yourself directly from the website or email that is offering it. Only then can you ensure you are printing a legitimate coupon.  Coupons  may  be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates.

• Are nearly always printed using the same technology and therefore have a standard format, with very specific security features, including a unique serial code.  Coupons may be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.

• Can be checked for validity at http://www.veri-fi.com.

Grocery Stores: Publix Shopping Reminders

Here is a list I made for my Publix shopping when I lived down in Florida. This is a simple list of hints and tips to remember while shopping!

Publix . . .
  • accepts local competitor coupons - see store for list of competitors
  • accepts one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per product
  • you can request a raincheck if a sale product is out of stock
  • adjust coupons down if it exceeds the product value
  • no longer accepts Albertons meat coupons - Publix carries a different grade of meat than Albertsons
  • accepts one competitor $ off $$ coupon per purchase
  • competitor coupons are entered manually, while manufacturer coupons are scanned
  • you must have equal or more products than manufacturer coupons
  • The register beeps for two reasons: a) more manufacturer coupons than products (which you will need "filler items") and b) redeeming over $50.00 in manufacturer coupon (this simply requires a managers override)
